The Alpinia Labs Blü Sea Moss Tallow Soap Bar is 
a cold-process face and body soap bar formulated 
with USP-grade methylene blue, Irish sea moss 
(Chondrus Crispus), and grass-fed beef tallow. 
Saponified olive oil base, coconut oil for lather, 
and sodium lactate for bar hardness. No synthetic 
fragrance. No parabens. No artificial colours 
beyond the natural blue tint of methylene blue. 
Handcrafted in Florida.

THE FORMULA
This bar brings together three ingredients 
rarely found together in a single cold-process 
soap — USP-grade methylene blue, Irish sea moss, 
and grass-fed beef tallow. Each ingredient is 
included for a specific reason. Nothing 
decorative. Nothing hidden.

USP-GRADE METHYLENE BLUE
The same purity specification as the Alpinia 
blu capsule range — applied to a topical 
soap formula. USP-grade means the methylene 
blue in this bar meets the purity and quality 
specifications of the United States 
Pharmacopeia. Not cosmetic grade. Not 
industrial grade. The cleanest specification 
available — in a cold-process bar.

Methylene blue gives this soap its natural 
blue colour. The blue tint is the ingredient. 
No dye. No colourant. Just methylene blue 
doing what methylene blue does.

SEA MOSS — CHONDRUS CRISPUS
Irish sea moss (Chondrus Crispus Extract) 
is a natural algae rich in minerals including 
iodine, calcium, magnesium, and potassium. 
It has a long history of use in skincare 
for its naturally high mucilage content — 
the gel-like substance that gives sea moss 
its characteristic texture and its reputation 
as a deeply hydrating botanical ingredient.

In a cold-process soap bar, sea moss 
contributes mineral content and a naturally 
smooth lather that feels different from 
a standard olive oil soap.

GRASS-FED BEEF TALLOW
Tallow is rendered beef fat — one of the 
oldest soap-making fats in history and 
one of the most skin-compatible. Its fatty 
acid profile closely mirrors the sebum 
naturally produced by human skin — 
predominantly oleic, palmitic, and 
stearic acid — which is why it has 
been used in skincare for centuries 
before synthetic alternatives existed.

In a cold-process formula, tallow produces 
a hard, long-lasting bar with a dense, 
creamy lather that olive oil alone 
cannot achieve.

THE COLD PROCESS METHOD
Cold-process soap making preserves the 
natural glycerin produced during 
saponification — the same glycerin 
that commercial soap manufacturers 
typically extract and sell separately, 
leaving behind a harsher bar. Cold-process 
bars retain this glycerin, which 
contributes to the bar's skin-feel 
compared to commercially manufactured 
soap.

This bar is handcrafted in Florida 
using the cold-process method.

FOR FACE AND BODY
Formulated for use on both face and body. 
The tallow base and olive oil combine to 
produce a bar that cleans effectively 
without the stripping effect of SLS-based 
soaps. Suitable for daily use.

To use on face: lather in hands first, 
apply gently, rinse thoroughly. Do not 
leave lather on skin for extended periods. 
Avoid eye area.

THE NATURAL BLUE COLOUR
This bar will be visibly blue. The colour 
comes entirely from the USP-grade methylene 
blue in the formula — not from added dye 
or colourant. The intensity of the blue 
may vary slightly between batches as a 
natural result of the cold-process method 
and the concentration of methylene blue.

Methylene blue can temporarily tint skin 
slightly blue on first use — this fades 
quickly with rinsing. This is normal and 
expected with any methylene blue topical 
product.

HOW TO USE
Lather the bar in wet hands or on a 
washcloth. Apply to face or body. 
Rinse thoroughly. For best results 
use daily. Store on a dry soap dish 
between uses — do not leave sitting 
in water.

Note: This bar may leave a faint 
blue tint on white flannels or 
washcloths. This is normal and will 
wash out. Keep away from surfaces 
that may stain.
